How do I register to be a volunteer?
We utilize SAE’s Engagement Hub for volunteer registration. To sign up, please register under the A World In Motion Opportunity here: https://volunteer.engagesae.org/OpportunityGroups.aspx .

Do I need to find the school to volunteer with, or do you match me?
You have both options. If you have a local school or district in mind, you can reach out directly; otherwise, AWIM can help by matching volunteers with classes/schools based on your location, availability, and mode of volunteering (virtual vs in person).

Is there a background check required?
Most school-based programs require a background check for any volunteers who will be working with minors. AWIM follows the requirements of the local school or district where you volunteer.

Are there training or orientation sessions for volunteers?
Yes. Volunteers can request an AWIM training here. Training provides an overview of the challenges, guidance on working with students, and tips to make your volunteer experience successful.
