Visa Application

Teams requiring visas to enter to the United States are advised to apply at least sixty (60) days prior to the competition. Although most visa applications go through without an unreasonable delay, occasionally teams have difficulties and may not be issued visas before the competition.

Neither SAE International staff nor any competition organizers are permitted to give advice on visas, customs regulations or vehicle shipping. Nor will they intervene on either matter concerning the United States or any other country.

SAE cannot intervene with, or call or send personal letters to, the State Departments, Embassies or Consulates of the United States or other government on behalf of any meeting or event participant. For more information, visit SAE International | Advancing mobility knowledge and solutions

Please be advised that competition registration fees are non‑refundable, including in circumstances where a registered team’s visa application is denied.


Confirmation and Participation Letters

Affiliated team members will have the ability to print out a Confirmation Letter prior to competition and a Participation Letter following competition for the individual event(s) that they are attending.

Please follow these steps to access your Confirmation/Participation Letter:

  • Log in to the event’s competition website

  • Click Activity Menu

  • Click Registration Dashboard

  • Click Manage Roster

  • Click Confirmation or Participation Letter (next to your name)

Confirmation and Participation letters will not be available once that competition year closes. We send regular news updates through the competition apps and will notify you when the letters are about to be removed.
